Andrea Valente

Born in Merano in 1968, he began his career as an author in 1990 with two cartoons published in the New York Times, followed by collaborations with Corriere della Sera, Epoca, the RAI program L'Albero Azzurro, and other newspapers and magazines. In 1995, he created "La Pecora Nera," a light-hearted character aimed at children. In 2000, alongside his cartoons, he ventured into fiction, publishing collections of short stories and narrative texts for the publishing houses Fabbri, Gallucci, and Il Castoro. He embarked on a collaborative project with Editoriale Scienza, collaborating over time with astronaut Umberto Guidoni, explorer Michele Pontrandolfo, and sailor Pietro Dalì. In 2007, he won the Andersen Prize for educational projects for his book La Pecora Nera & Altri Sogni, written in collaboration with the youth of the Nisida juvenile prison. 2011 Andersen Award for Best Complete Author. www.andreavalente.xyz
