Daniela Finocchi

Daniela Finocchi: a journalist and essayist from Turin with a degree in Political Science, she has always been interested in issues relating to women's thought and those related to nature. She has written books, plays, and produced radio and television programs. In the feminist field, she participated in the Coordination of Journalists of Piedmont and the Casa delle Donne in Turin. She helped found the Coordination Against Violence, the Telefono Rosa in Turin, and the Center for Studies and Documentation of Women's Thought. Among her most recent publications: Geo-graphies of Silence (Mimesis 2014), in the Accademia del Silenzio series, and—as editor—the anthologies Lingua Madre (Seb27, 2006/2017), L'alterità che ci abita – Donne migranti e percorsi di cambiare (Seb27 2015). She is a project consultant for literary and cultural festivals and a research fellow at the University of Turin – Department of Humanities. She is the creator and director of the national literary competition Lingua Madre, founded in 2005 and aimed at foreign women residing in Italy.
