I had taken you for swans
A Sicilian trans girl runs away from a dysfunctional family, but she's still attached to them for the love of her siblings. To please her father, she enrolls in Civil Engineering up north, but secretly dreams of entering the Academy of Fine Arts. She's left penniless, cuts ties with her family, and begins working in nightclubs to study during the day. Through toxic relationships, surgeries, and silences about identity, Fumettibrutti (Swans, Feltrinelli) crafts a tough story, uncompromising yet full of irony, in a twisted version of Andersen's fairy tale "The Wild Swans." Betrayal and salvation, salvation and betrayal. Starring Matteo Corradini.
