Telmo Pievani, evolutionist, philosopher of science, and essayist, teaches Philosophy of Biological Sciences in the Department of Biology at the University of Padua and is a visiting scientist at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. From 2017 to 2019, he was president of the Italian Society of Evolutionary Biology. A member of important scientific societies and the Editorial Board of international journals, he directs the Pikaia portal. He contributes to "Il Corriere della Sera" and the journals "Le Scienze," "Micromega," and "L'Indice dei Libri." He is the author of over 350 publications, translated into numerous languages, including: Imperfezione (2019), Finitudine (2020), Serendipità (2021), and Il giro del mondo nell'Antropocene (with M. Varotto, 2022).
