Shima Allahi

Shima Allahi was born in Tehran in 1987. She graduated in Iran with a degree in English-to-Persian Translation, then earned a master's degree in English Literature in India. She returned to Iran, where she worked as a translator and English teacher, publishing ten books. In February 2020, she arrived in Italy and began her master's degree in International Relations at the University of Genoa. She lives in Asti with her husband and is an English teacher. With I piccoli tesori, she won Second Prize in the 19th edition of the national literary competition "Lingua Madre," with the following motivation: "In the story, intelligence is combined with tenderness, where the objects of the country of origin dialogue with those of the place of arrival. Their presence, their smell and color evoke emotions, renew the memory of stories and people from the past, and evoke the affections and lives of those no longer with us, with all their evocative, symbolic, and, in this case, pacifying power. Feelings, modestly, mingle with the "family lexicon"; it is life that continues, space and time that contract.".
