Margaret McDonald is a Scottish author, born in Glasgow and raised in East Kilbride. She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Strathclyde University and an MA in English Literature (with honors) from the University of Glasgow. Her writing is influenced by themes that affect her personally, such as illness and the plight of the working class. Glasgow Boys, her debut novel, won the prestigious 2025 Carnegie Medal, the Branford Boase Award, the UKLA Book Awards, and was a finalist for numerous other awards.
