Emma Lidia Squillari (1991) lives in Bologna, where she studied publishing illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts. One of her happiest childhood memories are the huge boxes full of books her American grandparents sent her, which instilled in her a love for great authors like Arnold Lobel and Maurice Sendak. She creates her lively, detailed illustrations using pen, ink, and watercolor. Fun, well-told stories have always been her passion, and through her work she hopes to relive the same joy she felt when she picked up a book as a child.
