Donatella Di Cesare

Donatella Di Cesare
Who is?

Donatella Di Cesare teaches Theoretical Philosophy at Sapienza University of Rome.

She has examined the relationship with the figure of the stranger and the foreigner, focusing on the issue of migration. The challenges of violence, visible and invisible, from totalitarianism to contemporary forms—terror, torture, war—have driven her to rethink bare life and human rights. She has called for a return of philosophy to the pólis and the possibility of a radical thought capable of combining existence and community. In recent years, she has developed a critique of state politics, contributing to the development of the concept of democracy based on anarchy.

He intervenes in the contemporary debate on the themes of democracy, dissent and peace.
