Antonella Fioravanti

A scientist, she studies how to disarm pathogenic bacteria with innovative approaches. Her research, published in journals such as Nature Microbiology, has contributed to new solutions against antibiotic-resistant infections. She has received international awards, including the 2020 EOS Pipet Award from the Royal Academy of Belgium, and served as scientific advisor to the Italian Embassy in Brussels. She is currently a Guest Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, an evaluator for the European Innovation Council, and President of the Parsec Foundation. Alongside her research, she also disseminates science, supports public policy, and is committed to promoting women in STEM. In 2022, she was appointed Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by President Mattarella.
