Amalia Ercoli Finzi

Born in 1937, Professor Emeritus at the Polytechnic University of Milan, she was the first woman to graduate in Aeronautical Engineering in Italy. She is a consultant to NASA, ESA, and ASI and is among the Principal Investigators of the Rosetta Mission, which successfully deployed a drill she designed onto the back of a comet 500 million kilometers from Earth. An asteroid and the Earth model of the rover that will touch down on Mars around 2030 are named after her.
