War and Peace
"The world is supported by three things," says a rabbinic text, "truth, justice, and peace." Truth leads to justice, and justice to peace. It is a complex construction: if even one is missing, the world is destined to collapse. War, on the other hand, is simple; it is said to have been born with man and to be part of his most ancestral nature. But peace is also in the nature of human beings. It is from this reflection that Gustavo Zagrebelsky ( Di male in guerra. Verità, giustizia e pace, Einaudi) begins to show that there is much to be done, especially today, when war technology has reached such levels that it is no longer possible to speak of just wars. Paolo Giaccone will be in conversation with him .
