Alone, but never alone. Marika Ciaccia, a nature and hiking guide, took her big dream—taking the Great Alpine Crossing—in the summer of 2024 and made it a reality, turning it into a shared experience. After sharing her story in real time on social media in "Libera. Prima che i dopo become mai" (Solferino), Ciaccia retraces her nearly 1,000 kilometers on foot in 60 days, from the valleys above Domodossola to the sea at Ceriale. In conversation with Marika Abbà, who shares not only her name but also her profession, Ciaccia will explain why if she did the GTA, anyone can do it—spoiler alert: you have to love yourself—and why a peak doesn't have to be high, extreme, or scary, but just ours.
