The Voyage of the Argonauts is the story of the first contact between East and West, a myth that unifies the ancient world and prefigures its future. In that future, in August 1845, two powerful HMS bombards, Erebus and Terror, enter the Lancaster Channel in the Arctic archipelago to discover the legendary Northwest Passage. Retracing the routes of legendary ships, Tommaso Braccini (The Most Dangerous Voyage in History, Il Mulino) and Luigi Guarnieri (The Lost Ships of Captain Franklin, Einaudi) take us into the stories and adventures of epic heroes and aspiring ones (megalomaniacs, devotees and hard drinkers, courageous to the point of madness); all driven by the boundless ambition to unite what the gods had divided. Moderated by Livio Partiti.
