Arci is a kind, affectionate, and intelligent horse, a friend to all the children at the stables. Everyone except his owner, who wants to turn him into a racehorse to get rich. One morning, however, his stall is empty. Is it a prank or the legend that haunts the moors around Valle Pace, once called Valle Mannara because of a terrifying werehorse? Beatrice, Lubna, Leo, and Manuel know nothing of the disappearance, but when a horse-like monster emerges from the mist, they realize they must look beyond the legend to uncover the truth. Giuditta Campello (The Abominable Werehorse, Pelledoca) leads us through a gripping mystery set amidst the moors and ancient peasant fears.
