The Marchioness of Barolo is brought to life by Marina Marazza (Il rosso del re, Solferino) in all her strength, modernity, and exceptional humanity. Her actions on behalf of the poor, prisoners, and abandoned children in Piedmont in the early 19th century are evident; her support for women's right to fulfillment and happiness is evident; but also another adventure: that of producing a wine that must first win over King Carlo Alberto, the only one who can truly ensure its success.
