A theme-led show each year. From the first year 1999: Literature from north to south, The Journey and the dream, Islands, Fear, Borders, Places of Freedom, Feelings. Seventy to eighty authors who meet other authors and other books every year and present their latest works, fresh off the press, to a participating audience giving their personal interpretation of the main theme of that year.  A series of group debates to ensure that the meetings will not just be a simple publishing house presentation/promotion but an occasion for comparison and growth for those taking part and listening. The event takes place at the Centro Incontri della Provincia, the centre for the town and exhibitions where most of the debates take place and where there is a specially stocked bookshop with a Children's Corner a place where for the four days of the festival becomes a meeting point, party, polling station, and for readers of all ages. A wonderful meeting place for large and small meetings, public and private, that all take an active part in the festival occasions having their own spaces, audiences and history: Società Operaia, Casa Galimberti, Circolo ‘l Caprissi, Cinema Monviso, Palazzo Comunale, Teatro Civico Toselli, Teatro Officina, Sala San Giovanni, Ex Lavatoi, Università… And then there is the Theatre, with important national events and shows for children and music with musicians and writers (perhaps writer musicians) for the post-theatre evenings.
